Study Visits
Our international study visit offers students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about globalization and cultural competence within an experiential learning approach in order to develop the skills, knowledge, and resources to live in an increasingly diverse and globalised world. You will have the opportunity to locate theory within practice as well as learn with both your head and heart.
Experiencing the hustle and bustle of Brikama market and deconstructing your observations on golden beaches will be augmented with visits a range of cultural sites including the Kunta Kinteh Island slavery houses. Other activities include volunteering on community projects and going on a short placement visit relevant to your chosen studies or interests.
Youth Camps
As a learning providers, we will use the high quality facilities at our site to host conferences and residential training events. In our secluded yet comfortable environment participants will be able to focus on effective collaboration which can embed best practice and promote innovation.
Capacity Building
Through our workshop and training events we will construct the co-creation of solutions in capacity building, balancing power as well as building trust-based relationships, peer learning, and encouraging longer-term support.

The practical application of knowledge
This is one of the key areas of the academy that focuses on the teaching and training of practitioners and those affected by a range of issues, to be at the centre of solutions that they themselves lead in generating and delivering. This leans heavily on Praxis –in getting practitioners to engage with theory and theorists to engage in practice.
This plank of our academy will focus on the practical application of knowledge that is commensurate with the abilities of those most affected. This will include vocational training in Organic horticulture, food testing, preservation, and packaging. We will also deliver training modules supporting continuing professional development across a range of statutory, commercial, and non-profit sectors.
